An Offbeat Vision of Cycling

In 2018, the very first edition of the Gravel Tro Breizh was born. From the very beginning, this event laid the foundation for our philosophy: to promote a new vision of cycling—one that is fun, passionate, demanding, and resolutely offbeat.

Over the years, this visceral joy of scouting routes, organizing, and sharing the thrill alongside participants has become the true driving force of our team. Every smile at the finish line (and every shared struggle along the way) fuels our desire to push things further.

The Evolution: Adventures for Everyone

Building on this experience and driven by the passion to explore new horizons, we reached a turning point in 2021. The association launched a series of new challenges to offer adventures tailored to everyone, whatever your desires, your preferred terrain, or your physical abilities.

Whether it’s crossing France on high-altitude trails or taking on a food-loving challenge in total freedom, the spirit remains exactly the same.

A Unique Label: Erminig Bikepacking Adventures

Today, all of our events are united under one single banner: Erminig Bikepacking Adventures.

Behind this name lies a simple promise : routes meticulously crafted to the millimeter, a strong ethic based on self-sufficiency, and the guarantee of an unforgettable human and sporting experience, stamped with the seal of the Stoat – [Erminig = Stoat/Ermine in Breton].

The core mission of Erminig Bikepacking Adventures is to offer challenges that celebrate the ultimate disciplines of adventure cycling: ultra-distance and bikepacking.

We design events for everyone, from curious newcomers eager to try their first bivouac to the most seasoned athletes in search of the ultimate personal challenge:

🌱 The GTB Series: Bite-sized Gravel adventures, perfect for getting into long-distance riding, testing your gear, and discovering the joys of bikepacking over a single weekend.

🌍 The Long-Distance Epics (Gravel Tro Breizh, Sea To Peak & Half To Peak): Our flagship events, fully self-sufficient and unsupported. Spread over several days, they are designed to take you on a true human adventure, push your limits, and offer an escape through France’s most breathtaking landscapes.

🛣️ The Road Tro Breizh: Because tarmac also has its own nobility, this event proves that Brittany is just as magical and secretive when explored via its forgotten backroads.

🥐 The Free Adventures: Quirky, accessible challenges you can take on at any time of the year to experience bikepacking in total freedom and at your own pace—just like our famous Brigade de la Chocolatine challenge.

At Erminig, our DNA is built on powerful concepts that define every single one of our projects: bikepacking, ultra-distance, self-sufficiency, and a commitment to pushing personal limits. Here are the core pillars of our events.

🎒 Bikepacking In a constant quest for self-reliance and lightweight travel, bikepacking allows you to equip any bicycle (MTB, Gravel, Road) with minimalist bags (saddle, frame, handlebar) fastened directly with straps or bolts. By ditching traditional pannier racks, the bike retains all of its agility and responsiveness, no matter the terrain.

⏱️ Ultra-distance The Gravel Tro Breizh, Sea To Peak, Half To Peak, and Road Tro Breizh all belong to this ultimate category. To conquer these massive, grueling routes within the time limits, you must embrace spending long hours in the saddle and racking up serious daily mileage. A true test of both mental and physical endurance.

🗺️ Long-distance A more accessible format, perfectly embodied by our GTB Series. Here, the daily distances are designed to let you ride at a steady yet manageable pace. It is the ideal setup to learn how to pace yourself over several days and test your gear choices, without the time pressure of ultra-distance racing.

🛡️ “Unsupported” (Total Self-Sufficiency) The golden rule that gives the adventure its true value. On our flagship events, every participant is entirely on their own. No outside assistance (from the organizers, family, or friends) is allowed along the route. Resupply, accommodation, weather management, and mechanical repairs: you must handle everything yourself, using only what you carry or what you can find commercially along the way, on equal footing with everyone else.

Non-competitive Our events are not races: there is no official ranking. The goal is to defeat the route, not the other participants. However, a maximum time limit is set to spice up the challenge. Physical or digital checkpoints (CPs) dot the GPS route to validate your brevet card and certify your adventure.

🔄 Non-stop Progression The clock never stops ticking, from the starting line to the finish line. Participants are the sole masters of their own strategy: you are free to ride through the night, maximize your rest stops, or bivouac in the middle of nowhere. Your time management alone will dictate your success.
